About

Together with our network, we offer support, advice and training to equip young people and the community as a whole, by providing the vital life skills needed to engage in education, volunteering and employment.

The Creative Skills Foundation also looks to make changes in the lives of YP  by getting them to  gaining a greater understanding of themselves and their relationship with conflict. Many of the young people we work with have grown up in care, display violent behaviour, are not in mainstream education or are caught up in the criminal justice system. We also design training sessions and larger programmes for those working most closely with young people like local council workers, youth workers, prison officers and other voluntary sector workers, supporting them to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

It’s our mission to provide all young people with access to appropriate, high quality services in their local community or online.

We work with young people in schools, prisons and in the community, helping them to understand and tackle the root-cause of their violent and anti-social behaviors. We do this by placing well being at the heart of rehabilitation and providing intensive therapeutic support and mentoring, which builds self-awareness and emotional resilience.

Against Domestic Abuse

It has been recognised that domestic abuse can affect all aspects of a person’s life from education and employment, to health, social and child care; it is everyone’s business.

The creative skills foundation workshops are professional; they will provide robust, independent advice and guidance to get back on the path of education and employment

Workshops are a combination of teaching, group exercises and (lots of) open discussion. The workshops are held in a safe, supportive environment and you take part in discussions when you are ready.

Delivered by an experienced counsellor/group worker, who is a domestic abuse specialist, workshops are four hours long. We also have our Employment and career specialist that will be working along side participants to gain the up to date skills allowing them to enter back into the job market

Combating Mental Health & Homelessness

Homelessness is an increasing issue within the UK. Evidence shows that there is a considerable link between homelessness and mental health problems; however, this link is often overlooked. Four in five homeless people suffer from a mental health problem, and the lack of support is condemning them to a life on the streets. Being unemployed, living in poverty, having poor social networks and no safe place to stay can all have a big impact on well-being and make people more vulnerable to mental distress. Another problem is that people who are homeless can find it difficult to register with a GP, and get the mental and physical health care they need.

“Mental health services are hard to access if you are homeless.”

We will have services and workshops that will reach out to people that are suffering from mental illnesses homelessness  know of  someone that is being effected by theses issues
